Makeup/Skincare

I am starting to try to get into makeup and learn more about how to effectively apply it. As of now I am focusing more on skincare since that is more important. I am currently testing out CeraVe foaming facial cleanser and CeraVe moisturizer in the tub. Apparently the skincare addicts on reddit swear by those products and they don’t cost an arm and leg.

As for makeup, I am using Anastasia brow powder duo (dark brown) in addition to the brow gel and brush/spoole applicator. I feel as though the gel removes some of the powder in the process and the spoole is supposed to blend it but you can easily overblend and create a blurry mess. I find that using a black brow pencil to refill the areas make it look cleaner and less blurry.

I am looking into getting a liquid foundation such as Urban Decay Naked or Makeup Forever HD as I don’t find the BB creams that I have tested to be too effective. My BareMinerals powder foundation has a decent finish but the shade I have seems too light for my current skin tone which is not good.

I got it!! Bloomingdale’s friends and family sale

Some hairstyles I really love right now. I would rock all 3 cuts if I could pull it off.

The Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac in Sea Glass I ordered from Bloomingdales during the friends & family sale just came in. Seen to the right of my Botkier mini convertible for comparison, it’s a bit smaller in terms of space and it’s very inconvenient to have to unhook the clasp and to unzip the front pocket (unless you don’t mind your clasp hanging loose). This color is cute but do you think I will get enough wear out of it? RM comes out with many colors so I want to have a color that I will wear quite often instead of buying a bunch of the same bags in different colors. I’d rather have different colors of different designers. I might exchange it for a Kate Spade Carlyle black strap watch which retails at the same price, but I’m not sure if I am allowed since I used a discount code.

Movado Bold Gold Watch

I saw these at Macy’s today and am absolutely in love. They retail at $850, $1,495 and $595 (from left to right) so they’re definitely not anywhere near my budget at the moment but one day I will own one of these!!

Edit: I want to sell my Michael Kors watch because it has a bit too much going on. I have the one with the gems surrounding the face and a rose gold and acrylic band. This would contribute to my future trade up, yes?

I just received my new Botkier mini convertible bag in Sky! It was on final sale at Pink Mascara, so no take-backsies.

What I’ve got my eye on: Kate Spade Carlyle watch. So adorable! I can’t decide if I want the black strap or all gold. Rose gold is interesting too.

Which color would you choose? Strap or bracelet style?

I bought some bb and cc creams from sephora to try out! I Also can’t find my tweezers so I got a new pair, oh and moisturizer.

Why do people buy designer logo bags?

What I could NEVER understand was, why do certain people, particularly not very wealthy people, splurge on multiple designer bags — that are UGLY??

You know exactly what I am talking about, the bags that are plastered with all the “signature” logos or initials that just look bland as poop. MY question is, if you are going to spend that much anyway, why not at least get something that looks classy and nice? You don’t have to get some ugly Coach bag with “C” written all over it. Why not get a nice leather Legacy Coach bag in a complimenting color? You don’t need multiple tan shaded Michael Kors bags with “MK” all over it, you don’t need that Louis Vuitton that everyone else like you has that just says “LV” all over it. In fact, I bet there are many people with fake ones that look similar for cheap.

Why pay so much for boring and common when you could easily get something else with style and TASTE? Perhaps a nice YSL, Chloe, Rebecca Minkoff — something that incorporates actual design? That is the end of my rant.
